Updated April 16, 2022

Are you looking for an unbiased, thorough, and evidence-based Penguin CBD review? Interested in discovering what their best products are? Excellent! Let’s jump right in.

Penguin CBD earned an overall score of 40% based on the scores earned in the following categories:

75% in Trust and Transparency mainly because of a misleading return policy.

85% in Ingredients because several products have some artificial ingredients.

0% in Lab Testing from there being a variety of problems across the board.

0% in Product Safety based on not being able to use the lab testing.

Check out the original scoring sheet here

  •   Penguin CBD has been in business since 2019.
  •   The product line includes oil drops, capsules, gummies, cream, and pet CBD.
  •   They offer full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, and isolate CBD formulations (differences).
  •   Prices are average at roughly $0.11 per milligram of CBD (what should it cost?).
  •   I can’t find any info on the shipping prices.
  •   There doesn’t appear to be a rewards program,
  •   Save 20% with the subscription program.
  •   Penguin CBD offers a 25% military discount for veterans and active duty military.

Trust and Transparency

How straightforward and trustworthy is this company?

Interested in what people are saying about Penguin CBD?

  • There are product reviews on the website.
  • On Trustpilot they have a 3.8-star rating based on two reviews.
  • On the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website, there isn’t a record of the company.

Penguin CBD is misleading about their return policy by making it seem like (screenshot) there’s a straight 30-day money back satisfaction guarantee. After making the claim, it says to look at the bottom of the page for details but there aren’t any. It’s only on the FAQ page that you learn it’s actually only good for unopened products (screenshot).

Ingredients

Are they natural and high-quality?

The CBD oil drops come in five different flavors although the cookies and cream flavor is artificial.

The Penguin CBD Gummies (screenshot) and CBD Cream (screenshot) have artificial ingredients.

None of the packaging is shown in photos so there’s no way to verify what the ingredients are (it’s not always clear).

One thing I like about Penguin CBD is that they let the CBD stand on its own merit. So many other CBD companies have started dumping in all sorts of additional active ingredients, in an effort to stand out and be competitive (learn why it’s a problem screenshot). Penguin CBD doesn’t make that mistake. Two thumbs up!

Lab Testing

Is there Certificate of Analysis (COA) lab testing?

About half of the lab testing is from 2020 making it irrelevant to what’s being sold today.

The oil drop testing is all crammed together. It appears that only one strength of each flavor is tested and only one of the two formulations (either full-spectrum or broad-spectrum). That’s a problem because each flavor, strength, and formulation combination is a completely separate product (manufactured separately, etc.).

It’s a big deal because, no matter the good intentions or efforts, a lot can go wrong between making the different batches. There is a wide range of ways that contaminants make their way into CBD oil products. Testing for every product is crucial.

The gummies testing is from 2021 but it’s not clear if testing was for the correct and final product.

Product Safety

What are the results of the COA lab testing?

Without up to date and verifiably valid lab testing, it’s impossible to know what’s in Penguin CBD oil.

Recommended Products

CBD Truth Finder can’t recommend products from unranked companies and I’m in no way affiliated with Penguin CBD. That being said, these are their best CBD oil products (what this is and isn’t is based on):

Oil Drops

These Penguin CBD Oil Drops are available in full-spectrum and THC free broad-spectrum (formula differences screenshot).

There are five flavors including strawberry and mint.

Strengths range from 250mg to 5,000mg.

Capsules

The CBD Oil Capsules are broad-spectrum.

They are 25mg each and come in a bottle of 30.

  There are no unnecessary ingredients.
